Heating and Cooling Services for Your Home
Most of our days are spent on furnace repair and AC repair, with installations of new furnaces, central air, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits in between. We also run maintenance plans for homeowners who would rather catch a weak capacitor or a dirty flame sensor in spring than in January. When something fails at night, emergency HVAC repair is available around the clock. We take on commercial HVAC and new construction HVAC as well, with the same people carrying each job through.

AC Repair
Diagnosis and repair for central air conditioners, from failed capacitors to refrigerant leaks, with a written quote before work begins.

Furnace Repair
Furnace diagnosis and repair from one technician who finds the fault, quotes it in writing and stays until your home is heating again.
AC Installation
New central air conditioning matched to your home's size and layout, installed by one small crew from the first visit to the final test.
Heat Pumps
Cold-climate heat pumps sized to your home and installed by one small crew, plus help with the Avista rebate and federal tax credit paperwork.
Maintenance Plans
Two tune-ups a year, a written report after each visit and priority scheduling, handled by the same small crew who already knows your equipment.
Emergency HVAC Repair
When the heat or cooling quits at night or on a weekend, we answer, diagnose the fault and put the price in writing before any repair begins.
Furnace Installation
New gas and propane furnaces sized to your home, installed to code and started up by the same small crew that measured for them.
Ductless Mini-Splits
Quiet, efficient heating and cooling for rooms that run too hot or too cold, planned zone by zone and installed by the same crew from first visit to final check.
Commercial HVAC
Repair, replacement and scheduled upkeep for rooftop units, split systems and furnaces in shops, offices and small commercial buildings.
New Construction HVAC
Heating and cooling designed from your plans, roughed in at framing and started up at finish, with the same small crew at every stage.
How a Job Runs With Us
From the first call to the final check, the same people stay with your job. Here is the order of things.
- 1
You call us
Tell us what the system is doing, or not doing. We ask a few questions about its age and the symptoms, then set a time that works for you.
- 2
We look before we talk price
Your technician tests the system, checks safety controls and finds the actual cause. You get a plain explanation and photos of anything worth seeing.
- 3
You get a written quote
Repair options, replacement options if they make sense, and the full cost of each. Nothing starts until you say yes.
- 4
We do the work and clean up
Floors are covered, old equipment is hauled away and the area is left as tidy as we found it. For installations, we handle the permit and the inspection.
- 5
We check it with you
Before we leave, we run the system through a full cycle with you, show you the thermostat settings and answer any questions about filters or upkeep.

A Heating and Cooling Company Built Around One Crew
HVAC Medical Lake is a small team on purpose. We would rather do fewer jobs well than rush between many, and we keep the same people on a job from the first visit to the last. That way the person standing in your utility room knows your system, your home and what was promised to you.
Our work leans toward the details that last: correctly sized equipment, clean gas and electrical connections, a level pad under the condenser, a tidy line set and a thermostat set up the way you actually live. Winters here are long and cold, and summers turn hot and dry, so we build and repair systems to carry your home through both without strain.

Why Homeowners Call Us Back
A small crew means fewer handoffs and fewer surprises. Here is what that looks like in practice.
- One technician, one job
- The person who diagnoses your furnace is the person who comes back to fix it. You do not have to explain the problem twice, and nobody has to guess what the last visit found.
- A written quote before any work begins
- You see the parts, the labor and the total on paper before we pick up a tool. If we find something else once a panel is open, we stop and talk it through with you first.
- Honest repair-or-replace advice
- An older system is not automatically a replacement. We show you what we found, explain what a repair buys you in years of service, and let you decide without pressure.
- Care inside your home
- We lay down floor protection, keep tools off finished surfaces and clear away old parts and packaging before we leave. Outdoor units are set level on a proper pad, with line sets dressed neatly along the wall.
- No emergency or after-hours fees
- A furnace that quits at two in the morning costs the same to fix as one that quits at noon. You pay for the repair, not the hour.
What Shapes the Cost of Your Job
Every system and every home is a little different, so we price the work in front of us rather than quoting from a chart. These are the things that move the number most. We explain each one on the quote so you can see where the money goes.
Installation and replacement estimates cost you nothing. On a repair visit, the charge for tracking down the fault is subtracted from your repair total once you give us the go-ahead.
- The part that failed
- An igniter or a capacitor is a modest repair. A cracked heat exchanger, a failed compressor or a burned-out blower motor is a much larger one, and sometimes the point where replacement makes more sense.
- Equipment size and efficiency
- For installations, the right size comes from a load calculation of your home, not the label on the old unit. Higher-efficiency furnaces and variable-speed heat pumps cost more up front and less to run through a long winter.
- Access to the equipment
- A furnace in an open basement is quicker to work on than one in a tight crawlspace or attic. Rooftop or hard-to-reach outdoor units can add time.
- Electrical and gas work
- A new heat pump may need a dedicated circuit or a panel upgrade. Gas furnace work includes checking the gas line, venting and combustion air so the system runs safely.
- Permits and inspection
- New installations and gas appliance changes usually need a mechanical permit and an inspection. We pull the permit and include it on the quote.
- Incentives on heat pumps
- Many heat pump projects qualify for an Avista rebate as well as a federal tax credit. We assist with both claims, so what you spend after the paperwork settles can come in below the figure on the quote.
Questions Homeowners Ask Us
Something not covered here? (509) 236-8362
Do you charge more for nights, weekends or holidays?
No. We have no emergency or after-hours fees. Emergency HVAC repair is available 24/7, and the price is based on the repair itself, not the time on the clock.
How does pricing work on a repair?
A repair visit begins with a diagnostic charge for testing the system and pinning down the fault. If you decide to have us make the repair, that charge comes off the repair bill. Either way, you see a written quote with the full cost before any work begins.
Are your installation estimates really free?
Yes. Estimates are free on installations and replacements of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits. We visit, measure, size the equipment to your home and give you the quote in writing.
Should I repair my old furnace or replace it?
It depends on what failed, the age of the unit and how much you are putting into it each year. A single worn part on a sound system is usually worth fixing. A cracked heat exchanger or repeated major repairs often point toward replacement, and we will show you why rather than just tell you.
Do you warranty your repairs?
Yes. Every repair we make carries a 1-year labor warranty. If the same issue comes back in that time, we return to make it right.
Can you help with heat pump rebates?
We can. If you are putting in a heat pump, we help you file for the Avista rebate and the federal tax credit, and we point out which equipment qualifies before you choose. It is worth raising before any heat pump or mini-split installation.
What comes with a maintenance plan?
Our plans begin at $14.99 per month. Each one covers seasonal tune-ups, a discount on any repairs you need and first place in line when you book a visit. A tune-up before each season lets us clean burners, test safety controls and check refrigerant performance while the weather is still mild.
Will the same technician come back if I need a follow-up?
Yes, as a rule. Keeping one person on your job is how we work, so the follow-up visit starts where the last one left off.
Ready When Your System Is Not
Tell us what your furnace, air conditioner or heat pump is doing. We will talk it through, set a time and put a written quote in your hands before anything is touched.
